Washington DC is not particularly noted for its tango scene although it is a city of great culture. Well, that changed when I happened to drive past Freedom Park on a Sunday evening and noticed a group of people in the parked. I stopped, got out my Fuji X-T1, as well as Fuji X-Pro1 cameras and went to discover this unusual scene. It was like a scene from Woody Allen's 'Midnight in Paris'. A large number of seemingly cultured and refined people were in this square dancing to vintage tango blaring out speakers with a bit of nostalgic nod to vinyl. I was charmed. Below are a few images from the scene.
The weather forecast indicated it was going to be a wonderful day. I downloaded my copy of the new album from The Roots titled 'And then you shoot your cousin" which provided the perfect soundtrack I needed. From there I a few hours of the day wandering through the streets of Chinatown in Washington DC, taking street photographs with my Fuji X-T1 and Fuji X-pro1.
